my climber

If there is one thing that my little boy loves to do it is climb!!! He started out small, just climbing into the bottom drawer of my new cabinets. But then he moved up to bigger feats. Climbing on the couch by himself, chairs, top of the table.... almost anywhere you can name.

The other day changed Grant and realized that what he really needed was a bath. Well bath time is Hunter's favorite time of day but he was already dressed so I didn't want to put him in. While I was dealing with the diaper for two seconds Hunter climbed on in to the tub clothes and all he was very proud of himself.

Cooking with Mom

One of Grant's favorite things to do is help cook! I enjoy his help, most of the time, unless it involves the stove or something hot. I know that I always enjoyed helping my dad cook. One of the things that I ALWAYS helped Dad make was Raspberry Delight! It was my job!! Well I decided to make it for a relief society activity a while ago and Grant decided he needed to help me. All I could think about was how much fun I used to have helping my dad. It was fun to have him help me!! I wish that I could make this with my dad again but luckily I have someone to help me!

Raspberry Delight
Crust-
2 cups flour
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Mix all together and bake at 375 for 15 mins. Then press all but one cup into a 9x13 pan. Save the rest for the top.

Middle-
2 pkgs of dream whip
1- 8oz pkg cream cheese
1 cup powder sugar

Prepare dream whip as directed on the package. Add the rest of the ingredients and cream. Spread on top of the crust.

Top-
1 pkg Danish dessert Raspberry
1 1/2 cup cold water
1 pkg frozen raspberries

In a small sauce pan add water and danish dessert stir continuously until boiling. Stir while boiling for 1 min. Add frozen raspberries. Pour over the dream whip. Sprinkle remaining crust on top. Chill several hours before serving!!

Fish and more fish!

Tyler decided that we should take Grant fishing so we went to the store and bought him a little pole so that they could each use one. Grant enjoyed it but didn't last very long. It was good and gave him an idea what it was all about. To bad he and dad didn't catch anything I think he would have liked seeing the fish and touching it!

A few days before my mom and I took the boys to the aquarium! It was a lot of fun. Grant liked it but had more fun looking at all the stuff in the gift shop. Hunter loved it!! He would crawl over to the steps and climb up so he could see all the fish. Then when you picked him up to go see something else he would scream until you set him in front of something else. What silly boys I have!

Dusty and Abby

We have two new additions to our family or should I say zoo! Tyler got his father's day present early last week, in the form of two little kittens. Our neighbor's cat had kittens so we were able to get two of them for free!! They are brother and sister and love playing with each other.

This is Abby!! Named after Abby on NCIS!

This is Dusty!! Just liked the name!

The boys love the kitties. These pictures are from the first few days. The reason it is only Dusty is that he was a lot easier for them to catch.

Chocolate!

I feel bad that I don't do as many posts on Hunter as Grant. He is finally doing more than just lying around. So Hunter I promise to do more. This is Hunter enjoying a piece of yummy Cummings Studio Chocolate!! He loves eating and if it is a piece of chocolate he likes it even better!! I love this boy even when he is a gooey, chocolate mess!

Sleeping Grant

This blog isn't what you think. It is not about how Grant slept last night, cause he has been sleeping really well. This morning grant found a sleep aid that got left on a desk by accident. I didn't know about it. Then I saw him chewing on something so I asked him what was in his mouth. Miracle or miracles he actually took it out of his mouth and handed to me, I guess it didn't taste very good. Noticing what it was I called poison control right away!! Luckily they said that even if he had eaten the whole thing, which he didn't, then it wasn't enough to take him to the hospital. Although it may make him sleepy. Well it did make him sleepy. Boy it is weird to have him sleeping at 10:30 in the morning. I was so scared!! Not to mention it kind of made me feel like a bad mom. Nothing like a mother's guilt.

Pink eye

Grant woke up yesterday with a tiny bit of goop in his eye. I didn't really think much of it because he had a cold that he was almost over so I thought it just was the cold. So we went to the zoo because it was such a beautiful day. The whole time we were at the zoo it kept getting worse and worse. Then it started getting red! So I decided that I would take him to the doctor today, see how it was when he woke up this morning. But after we got home from the zoo he was crying and saying owie while pointing to it, so we took him to instacare. Sure enough it was pink eye. So now I get the fun task of putting eye drops in a two year old three times a day for a week and hoping no one else gets it!

Funny Grant

Today Grant just realized that Pooh bear has the same name as something else. Hunter's room has some pictures of Pooh Bear and this morning Grant kept pointing to them saying, "Cucu." It was so funny.

Pay it Foward

I got this idea from my cousin's blog, Dan and Tina. It is simple the first three people to leave me a post on this will get some sort of homemade item made by me, as long as they promise to do the same. I mean who doesn't like to get something homemade!

Tyler's 25th Birthday

25 years ago my wonderful husband Tyler was born. His parents had to wait several years for him, I say it is because he had to wait for me to come. He was born a month early and had a little bit of a rough start, but he is a fighter and made it. I am so blessed to have him in my life, he is such a hard worker and does so much for me and the boys. Thank you hun.
Today Tyler got to go play with his friends, something he doesn't get to do very much anymore because of work. Then we went out to dinner with his best friend, Graydon and his wife Aimee. After dinner we came home and played a fun game called Ticket to Ride. Then had pie and ice cream. Sorry I meant to take pictures but totally forgot until it was too late.

Grant's second birthday

Two years ago today Tyler and I became parents when our little boy Grant was born. Today he turned two. It is crazy how fast those two years went by.
Today was such a good day. We started the day by making muffins for breakfast. Then in the afternoon we went to lunch and then went to a fun place with a bunch of the bounce houses and slides, called Kangaroo Zoo.

After that he had bounced every little bit of energy out of him so he fell asleep on the way home. After he woke up we went out to dinner with Tyler's parents. After a yummy dinner we went home to wait for the rest of the family to come over for cake and ice cream. I made Grant a guitar cake because he is always playing air guitar.

Then he opened up presents. It was like Christmas all over again he got tons of stuff and loves all of it. He kept going to one thing and then something else would catch his eye and he would move on to something else.

Christmas

On Christmas Eve we went to my mom's house. Santa came so that we could get pictures and he also handed out the chocolate letters that we get every year as tradition. Then we had pizza and root beer, another tradition in our family. Then last but certainly not least we read the Christmas story and opened up presents. The only down side was that Walter had to work the whole night and Tyler had to work a good part of the night. Other than that it was a great night. Grant got a tool set that came with goggles, that he would not take off for anything or anyone. As seen below!!
Hunter got a ball with a monkey on it that he likes, when his brother isn't stealing it from him.
That night we came home and the kids had fallen asleep on the way so we put them to bed. Too bad that Grant woke up at 1:30 and I couldn't get him back to sleep til 5.

The next morning we went to breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Great's house. Sorry I was really bad at taking pictures on Christmas Day. Then we went to Tyler's parents and spent the rest of the day there. Grant got more presents, a helicopter and a coloring book. Hunter got some really cool stacking bowls that can turn into balls! Tyler and I also got some great stuff. Thank you to both of our families for all you do for us! We love you!!
